Unforgiven – Lauren Kate

“He would fly until his heart no longer ached. He would fly forever if he had to…”

The most awaited story for the Fallen fans!!! The Love story of the bad boy brooding angel ‘CAM’.

Who could have ever expected that ‘Love’ held a significant position in Cam’s heart? Cam’s only soulmate… Lilith…! As introduced in Torment and further elaborated in Rapture, Cam’s love history has been entirely different from anyone else.

After an infuriating heartbreak will he be able to win back Lilith’s love or will the two lives entirely be devastated by the cunning king of the devil angels ‘Lucifer’? Will Lilith fall in love with Cam or will Cam lose her, to spend his eternal life on a heartbreak and without his only true soul mate?

Lucifer had made Cam’s love life a hell, and even Cam was determined in sucking the life out of Lucifer if he tried to snatch Lilith away from him, once again…

Cam has always been my favorite character in the whole fallen series! Especially, his carefree attitude and at the most… His green eyes. His eyes are so green that even the full bloom trees of the Amazon Rain forest and the emerald itself will be a prey of envy for Cam’s eyes!

When I came to know that Lauren Kate has decided to release Unforgiven, I was thrilled and was jumping up and down with irrepressible exhilaration! A whole book which will revolve around Cam.

Witnessing Lucifer plot plans against Cam and prying in Cam’s business, brought out my aggressive side. I felt like stepping into the book, smacking the devil really hard on his head, tearing his so called ‘stunning’ amber hair, wring his neck and most probably… take the life out of him right then and there! I was also aware that it was Lucifer’s damn creation and he could do anything his brutal mind propelled him to do. But still… I couldn’t help myself but could feel angry!

As the question of the climax arises, it was decent and different but not the best I anticipated after reading the entire novel. It was a cliffhanger and did not provide absolute satisfactory answers to the questions that I had in my mind, which leads me to the conclusion that there is more to Cam & Lilith’s life. It can’t just end here and what happened of Lucifer… I am expecting a sequel to this novel which answers my questions. Though I doubt that a complete book will be required but still I wanna know about it…

The book has an awesome character plot and an entirely different story scheme than the rest of the Fallen series. I was overwhelmed with emotion after reading the book. Some parts were touchy which will bring out the softer side of the reader whilst some were so humorous and at the very same time very panicky that it would make the reader laugh a hysterical laughter.

I recommend this book to everyone because it was really good and not at all a boring read… While reading it, just remember…

“Mortality is the most romantic story ever told!”

Rapture – Lauren Kate

“Two Passionate Lovers,

 Struck in an Ancient war.

Cursed to survive a love,

That could never be theirs because,

Some angels are destined to fall!!!”

Sooo… After finding Luce, Daniel and the fellow fallen angels have another issue to solve! Lucifer! Luce is the only one who can break the curse… Lucifer wants the fall to take place again… the angels have nine days to stop Lucifer… If not, there will be hell on earth. Will the angels stop Lucifer in time or they will be too late…? Late enough to put their existence at stake!? Next comes the time of decision… Heaven and Hell can’t wait anymore!!!

Geez! I picked up this book just the next day after I read Passion. After passion, I was a bit dubious whether the book will meet my expectations or is it gonna annoy me even more! But I was extremely enchanted to find that the book went beyond my expectations…

I was spell bound when I came to know that the destiny of the angels is in the hands of Luce! There were many types of “What if” questions in my mind – what if Luce does something reckless. What if the angel’s existence comes to an end?

The book attracted me real bad and made me impatient to get the answers to my questions. I was frantic to know what Luce’s role was in the curse apart from living and dying every 17 years, what was the curse actually meant for and why Daniel was cursed!

I cried so many times while reading the book that it took me 3 whole days to gather up all my guts and face what was about to happen next. Great and startling sacrifices were made in the book which will leave the readers in pain and are sure to keep their eyes brimming with tears!

Most parts in Rapture took me by surprise while the others were predictable. The conclusion was something that did not occur to me even once while reading the whole series! I really need to admit that the whole twist – of – the – story – thing was utterly unimaginable and I could not settle the whole twist in my mind for about 2 weeks and kept blabbering about it!!!

I was really satiated by the ending of the book. It was absolutely worth the read and streaming tears. It left me awe – struck and taught me that true love is worth every sacrifice and not to forget mentioning “Love is the only thing worth fighting for”!

It was remarkably an incredible climax to the one and only Fallen series. The book left me completely mesmerized and was solely awesome!

Finally, the series was beyond any other “Fantasy romance” I ever read before. I simply loved it and recommend it to all the people who love reading something new and out of the box!

“All that is good in Heaven and on Earth is made of love. Maybe that wasn’t your plan when you created the universe—maybe love was just one aspect of a complicated and brutal world. But love was the best thing you made, and it has become the only thing worth saving. This war is not just. This war is not good. Love is the only thing, which is worth every sacrifice and every war!”

Passion – Lauren Kate

“I’ll love you with all my heart, in every life, through every death. I will not be bound by anything but my love for you.”

Luce may even die for Daniel. She always has. Every single lifetime they are thrown together… no matter how hard Daniel tries to keep them apart, Luce always finds him… just to be agonizingly torn apart… Luce knows that there is something or someone that she is missing out… something in her past lives that will be of great use for her to break the curse cycle… But What or Who!!!

So my dear Fallen fans, get ready to dive headlong in this time- travel adventure of Luce to find out her identity and decipher the origin of her and Daniel’s curse. Will she be able to find out or will she be struck in one of her past lives???

The book focused on the past of Daniel and Luce… how Luce dies every time she falls in love with Daniel and how grief-stricken Daniel becomes after losing his one and only soulmate.

When I picked up this book from my shelf, I was eager to know what will happen in the book. I wondered whether it would be an epic like fallen and torment or even better! But Alas! I was wrong…

This book is good but nearly NOTHING as compared to the first two books. I personally found the book a bit boring… I mean why the hell you would go to your past lives if all the ones who care about you told you not to do so! HELL!!! To be very frank, during the book, it occurred to me that it was the favorite time pass hobby of Luce to put the Angel’s lives at stake!

Some things actually sucked in the book like – time travelling blindly without any further plans. Still each chapter and each journey taught me a new aspect of love… how strong love is and how, “Love is the only thing worth fighting for.”

Also, I believed that a whole book was not at all vital to show us how Daniel felt after losing Luce and how much torture he endured. It could have been included in the second (Torment) or maybe the fourth (Rapture) book. Readers might feel bored by repeatedly reading the agony and torture of Daniel and the same Luce bursting into flames over and over again. This thing was already explained in the first two books of the series and no deeper insight was actually required to understand the situation.

On the other hand, I do agree that the climax was really important to sum up with the things that came up during Torment and Rapture.

The book was Okay. But some parts truly made no sense…

Nonetheless, this book left me on a huge suspense… How the series is gonna end! The climax was unpredictably good and mysterious which will leave the readers pondering… Lauren Kate has this potential to keep the readers tied to her books because of her climax…

Thus my dear charming friends… check out the next and the concluding book in the fallen series “Rapture” where “We put all our faith in love.”...

Torment – Lauren Kate

“Sometimes beautiful things come into our lives out of nowhere. We can't always understand them, but we have to trust in them.”

This is what happens in the second book of the Fallen series. Aftermath of what all happened in Sword and Cross, Luce is hidden by her damned angelic boyfriend, Daniel, in a school in Shoreline which is full of Nephilims. There are still people who want Luce dead. But why? Is it just because she is in love with Daniel? Or they have an even bigger intention…?

When I picked up this book, it was just 2 days after I finished reading fallen. The questions which arose during Fallen, kept revolving around my head and triggering my brain begging for answers. Again it was a book which took me a day to read since the mystery and the thrill in the book kept me imprisoned within itself…

Also, this book made me furious many, many times! It just kicked the hell out of me and was compelling me at times to toss the book from the window of my room… just I didn’t throw it out! It was so infuriating when Luce used to do everything that she was asked NOT to do! How can someone be so damn reckless!? She put all the angel’s existence and her life at stake.

On the other hand, there was Daniel… he loved Luce and trusted her from all his heart. But Luce… she simply had almost no faith in Daniel… how could she make him suffer so badly? Doesn’t she know that he loves her so much? “I have to go," he said at last, getting to his feet. "I shouldn't even be here, but I cannot keep myself away from you. I worry about you in every waking moment. I love you, Luce. So much it hurts.” See!

Though it was a bit annoying on Luce’s part, it somewhere triggered the most important aspects of the novel like Luce being able to decipher a few moments of her former life with Daniel. Without this, the further books in the series would have been a waste…

The book is about how Daniel and Luce quarrel over trifle things, how much frustrating it is for Luce to be kept in dark despite of Daniel knowing everything about their former lives, and how even after being apart, they are together…

The book reveals the answers to a few questions which we must have had somewhere in the back of our mind but at the same time, also generates a few new ones for us to ponder upon!

People who are sensitive cannot read this book in one sitting… it is extremely sentimental and is certain to leave a deep mark on the reader’s heart!

If Luce & Daniel have to be together for eternity, she has to decipher every single detail of her past! But what if she couldn’t…?

“Tonight there was only time to wave goodbye, take a deep breath, and leap into the dismal  shadow.

Into darkness.

Into Luce’s past.”

OH NO!! What is Daniel gonna do now?

The climax will leave you absolutely spell bound and paralyzed… you will be damn desperate to find out that what happened to Luce in the next book of the series…“Passion” where “Love is the only thing worth fighting for.”

“Would he find her?

 Without question.

 Would he save her?

 Always!”

Fallen – Lauren Kate

“We meet. We always meet, somehow we're always thrown together, no matter where I go, no matter how I try to distance myself from you. It never matters. You always find me.”

17-year-old Lucinda falls in love with an inhumanly dazzling & Cushing boy, Daniel, at her new school, the grim, intimidating Sword & Cross. The enigmatic violet glow and appearance of Daniel’s eyes, his angelic smile and the way he looked at Luce made her feel like a Deja-vu. She strongly believes that she knows him… just doesn’t know how!

It is only later she discovers that Daniel is a cursed fallen angel who is neither destined to exist in heaven nor is given a place in Hell, and that they have spent lifetimes finding and losing one another as good & evil forces plot to keep them apart. "You know everyone loves to hate a happy pair of lovebirds". Secrets unfold, betrayals take place & hearts are shattered. Can Daniel save Luce from all the people who want her dead or will she be gone… and this time “Forever”…?

Fallen is a planned Quadrilogy and a beautiful novel which showcases all the emotions from love & suffering to betrayal & heartbreak. It is a perfect novel for people who prefer reading something that is beyond imagination and outwardly of human world.

It has an impressive connection between mortal beings and immortal souls plus, is somehow really addictive and obsessive. One cannot forbid oneself if he has started reading the novel. I devoured it from start to finish in just a few hours. Lauren Kate’s writing contains an extraordinary force which kept me glued to her novel. Thankfully! It did not have those long pages after pages of internal narration by the protagonist which exist in almost every second “Fantasy Romance” and frankly, FREAKS ME OUT!!!

I really need to admit that I was entirely drawn to the characters, specifically, “Cam”. His cool charisma and spectacularly stunning emerald eyes... The kind of green that pushed its way through the piles of gritty snow to remind you that spring was coming. The kind of green that budded on the prisoners of winter, bringing life back to their branches. That green color that brings hope and life no matter what has happened. Geez!! It was something SWAGGY!

Okay… So the whole spin – around – of – the – story thing was given a bit too late. It should have been given early to form a proper interpretation of the novel. Although, the flow, character plot and the synchronization in the book left me turning page after page like an insane person. I was filled with the feeling of awe and the curiosity was actually killing me!!! I couldn’t stop reading the book even for a few minutes!

Personally, On the whole, Fallen is a book which can win the heart of anyone and everyone who reads it. The novel has left me yearning for my own “Angel” and envying Luce since she has one!!!

As Fallen comes to an end, some questions remain intact which leave the readers passionate to know what will happen in its fantabulously thrilling sequel “Torment”

“I'll always choose you Lucinda... Every single lifetime, I'll choose you. Just as you have always chosen me. Forever...”
